Always one of Atypon’s chief innovators, Marty has been responsible for the definition and delivery of continual improvements to the Literatum online publishing platform since 2010. As Senior Vice President, Product, he took on product development for all Atypon technologies. He now oversees day-to-day operations of the entire company. Previously, Marty was the vice president of systems and technology for Harmonic’s digital television division. Prior to that, Marty founded Cogent Technology, where he led the HP-IBM-Sun design and implementation of a distributed object-based multimedia framework that became an early multimedia standard. In fact, Marty has always been an innovator. In 1983, he co-founded Parallax Graphics, a pioneer in computer graphics and digital video hardware and software.
Gordon joined Atypon after serving as CEO of Berkeley Electronic Press. Before that he was president of Blackwell Publishing (now Wiley-Blackwell) for seven years, helping transform the company into the world’s largest society publisher and spearheading the development of its digital publishing platform. Gordon has also been the director of information systems for Aster Publishing (later Advanstar) and a vice president for the Thomson Corporation, the precursor to Thomson Reuters. He holds a BS in computer science and an MBA from the University of Oregon.
Jonathan is responsible for setting and executing Atypon’s market and sales strategies as well as managing the sales and marketing teams. He has 25 years’ experience with publishing technologies and services, including 15 years in a business development leadership role establishing relationships with the world’s largest publishers and online retailers. His areas of expertise include content strategy, publishing workflows, professional services, product marketing, eBook production and distribution, content conversion, and print on demand. Jonathan holds a BA in English and creative writing from Dartmouth College and an MA in English literature from New York University.
Over the past 17 years, Hisham has been involved in several high-impact initiatives at Atypon, including writing Crossref, onboarding the company’s largest clients, and establishing the engineering office in Amman, Jordan. His continued focus is making sure Atypon’s clients’ needs are met by its software, DevOps, and QA engineering teams. Prior to joining Atypon, Hisham developed the first guaranteed message delivery system for Slam Dunk Network; previously he was a principal member of the team that built Oracle’s JDeveloper tool. He earned a BS in computer engineering from Technion—Israel Institute of Technology.

He holds an MS in electronic and electrical engineering and computer science from the University of Sheffield, a PhD in 3D modeling with artificial intelligence algorithms from Aberystwyth University, an MBA in digital marketing and strategy from Oxford, and a certification in machine learning from Stanford. He has published widely on computer science.
